Hungarian plastic surgery clinics find success in medical tourism market

by Surgical Tribune

CHICAGO, USA: Dental and plastic surgery clinics in Hungary are currently performing well in the medical tourism industry, with significantly increased revenue growth in the first quarter of 2015, as reported by VisitandCare.com, a website for finding and comparing medical treatments. According to the international company, the earnings of its partner Hungarian medical providers have been positively affected by training development, team expansion, and forward-thinking technologies.

Distinguished for its thermal spring resorts, Hungary has become a flagship medical tourism destination for plastic surgery and dental treatments. Attracting patients from Denmark, Germany, Italy, Russia, Scandinavia, Switzerland and the UK, medical providers in Hungary are gaining an increasing share of European medical tourism.

Only recently, the Medical Tourism Association, an international non-profit association for the medical tourism and global health care industry, established an affiliate chapter in Hungary to raise awareness of the high level of health and wellness services available in the Central European country.

An increasing number of patients are seeking surgical treatment in the Hungarian capital of Budapest owing to affordable treatment costs and flights from across Europe, a wide-range of advanced dental treatments, and modern, up-to-date facilities, as well as thermal spa resorts and various European tourist attractions. However, cost saving seems to be one of the key factors: top plastic and dental surgeons in Budapest offer treatments for 40–70 per cent less than the cost of treatments in Scandinavian countries, the UK, and the US, VisitandCare.com reported.

“As a result of our substantial investment into Hungarian medical providers, we are benefiting from their strong portfolio of experience with international patients. In combination with our systematic software that includes proficiency measurement, we are targeting persistent profitable growth in 2015 for all of our partnered medical providers,” summarised Brandie Umar, Executive Director of VisitandCare.com.

VisitandCare.com aims to help individuals worldwide locate doctors, obtain free medical treatment quotes, and pursue affordable medical treatments at destinations of their choice. The company provides access to selected doctors and hospitals who specialise in infertility treatment, plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry, laser eye surgery, orthopaedic surgery, hair transplantation, weight loss surgery, heart surgery and cancer care.
