LINC 2017 sets attendance record

LEIPZIG, Germany: With more than 5,000 participants, the Leipzig Interventional Course (LINC) 2017, recently hosted in Leipzig, achieved a record attendance and was a great success. The interdisciplinary event is intended to provide a global platform for the discussion of cases treated by medical professionals of different specialties who perform endovascular interventions.

LINC is strongly committed to contributing to systematic scientific evaluation and interdisciplinary discussion of new methods, towards conclusions for daily interventional practice, according to the organisers.

For this year’s event, the multidisciplinary faculty, the participants and the industry representatives came from more than 75 countries. The figures show that the attendees were evenly distributed among the various specialties, making LINC 2017 truly multidisciplinary.

The organisers awarded the best posters presented as part of a congress programme that covered a broad variety of topics. In the Original Research category, the multidisciplinary and international jury selected the poster titled “Optimization of the Philips AlluraXper FD20 imaging setting allows to halve the radiation dose during lower limb revascularization procedures”, by Dr Andrea Discalzi et al. from Italy, as this year’s winner. The top poster in the Challenging Cases/Complications category, titled “Unrecognized iatrogenic abdominal aortic dissection with iliac stent implanted subintimally—What to do?”, was submitted by Dr Dimitar Nikolov et al. from Bulgaria.

The free LINC 2017 congress app enabled visitors to organise their personal LINC schedule, receive the most updated programme information and find their way around the industry exhibition. Using the app, they were also able to view the detailed guide to live case demonstrations, review the live cases treated during the event and see detailed schedules of faculty members.

LINC events are hosted all over the world. LINC Asia-Pacific 2017 will be held from 14 to 16 March in Hong Kong, LINC @ Charing Cross 2017 will be hosted in London on 26 April, and LINC New York @ Mount Sinai will take place on 13 and 14 June in New York in the US.

The next LINC in Leipzig will be held from 30 January to 2 February 2018. More information can be found on the LINC website.
